~Goodbye 2009~

Auld Lang Syne" (Scots pronunciation: [ˈɔːld lɑŋˈsəin]: note "s" rather than "z") is a Scottish poem written by Robert Burns in 1788 and set to the tune of a traditional folk song (Roud # 6294). It is well known in many English-speaking (and other) countries and is often sung to celebrate the start of the New Year at the stroke of midnight. By extension, its use has also become common at funerals, graduations, and as a farewell or ending to other occasions.
(Extracted from www.wikipedia.org)
-----------------------------------
I didn't know Auld Lang Syne was a scottish poem...WOW..
There are alot of things happened in 2009...mostly "bad" things i would like to summarise it as...
SO i think its good that it's goinggggggggg away in less than 6 hrs from now...
I hope that 2010 will be good for everybody, in health, money, luck and love!~
And let's sing this famous song tgt!

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
and surely I’ll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
Happy New Year!

~Chocolate Truffles Recipe~

If you like chocolates as i do, OR if you want to make some goodies for your darling for the upcoming Valentines BUT afraid of too much work OR EVEN if you are setting up a party and having headache because you don't know what you can offer as dessert/sweet treat,
FRET NO LONGER!!
Make them CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES!~
They are so simple to make, look good and they taste great...
1.Get some chocolate biscuits and a pack of cream cheese

I bought 2 packets of Tim Tam's classic dark and original biscuits
to mix, because i prefer not-so-sweet truffles.

2.There are abt 10 pcs in each packet and i took 6 pcs from each packet, so it's 12 pcs and blend them into paste form.

Each biscuit is approx 20grams, so multiply by 12 = 240grams (can make abt 30-40 pcs)

You can try using Oreo biscuits or other types of biscuits which have cream fillings

I'm going to try making strawberry types next time.. :)

Blend blend blend~

3. Fold in the cream cheese with the chocolate paste..

I didn't use a mixer because the cheese was soft enough to mix well..
think if you use a mixer, it will be more thorough...

4. Put the mixture into the fridge to chill for abt 2 hrs...

5. Once chilled, roll them into little balls

If you like, put an almond in them..

6. Get a bar of baking chocolates and some garnishes

For the garnish, you can get some chopped nuts etc too.. be creative!

7. Break the chocolate into little bits and put them into a bowl.

8. Boil some water in a pot and turn off the gas.. Then place the bowl on the pot and allow the heat transferred to melt the chocolate... Keep stirring..

I turned off the gas to prevent the chocolate from boiling.

I love listening to my fav songs when i cook~

9. Coat the chocolate balls with the melted chocolate

10. Garnish them!

Tada!!~

Let them sit for a day in the fridge before consuming!

As for me, i set them in the freezer, so it's all hard and cold and it melts slowly in the mouth..

Have Fun making them!!

Do-do`s~

~Christmas Party 2009~

I think i'm a bad kid who only goes to church on Christmas Eve... LOL..
So if God was Santa, i wouldn't receive any present for Christmas... :/
So on the Eve, my sis and her fren Cathlene and me went to St Joseph's Church...
The priest said the same thing as last year... he said that only during Easter and Christmas, people would only come to church... LOL...
Think i sld make it a habit to go...
Moreover, i would like to hold my wedding here too...

Then comes Christmas!!
I've already started preparing for the party like a month ago and woke up rather early on the day to prepare the food...

10 Dishes + Chocolate truffles for dessert

And we all had gift exchange ...

Polymates and my close frens

And some random pics

Thanks Ah Hui for helping me lots!
So i didn't have to wash the dishes..hehe
N finally the night ended with the girls @ Chevrons KTV session

For the pressies,
I've gotten,

a mini disco speaker! which is rather useful and cool...
i was intending to get a speaker for my room and here it is!
i saved $kachings$~

My favourite gift frm my BFF,
A dwae-ji tok-ki (pig-rabbit) necklace...
She actually pasted a nose on the rabbit to imitate the show, You're Beautiful..
but instead of the plush, she got a necklace for me...
And A PAIR OF KEROPPI SOCKS!!
OMG.. it's awesome...
i wonder where she bought it...

A bag of Candies from Hui Lee...
which was surprising enough as i thought she wasn't serious abt it..

Other than my "Seoul'd Out" tickets from my sis, she got me a Hello Kitty Badminton racket too!
A set of books and a 3D jigsaw puzzle (i forgot to take pic) frm Mel Jie!
Whoots!
i'm a lucky kid!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

One big big orange...

How to eat it?!
Showing you Candy's way of eating it!

1.Cut the orange into quarters, stick a yakult straw & give it a squeeze!

2. Juice will start oozing out frm the orange...if not, your orange is lousy like you because you dunno how to choose one...

3. What else? Drink the juice!

4. Finally, when you gave up on sucking, put the orange into your mouth and bite..

LOL...

Actually i really did managed to get the juice through the straw..haha..try it for fun!

~Corioliss-Hair Fixture~

Yesterday, my bff and i went to Bukit Panjang Plaza and passed by this booth that was selling this hair straighter + curler (2 in 1) under the brand of Corioliss...
She rolled the ball by bringing us to her booth, made us sit down in front of a large mirror and began selling her points..

She has very good black curled hair which at first i thought they were extensions..
You couldn't feel any leave-on moisturisers or wax or mousse either...

My hair was first to be tried on and it was perfectly straightened with one stroke of the product then she curled it in seconds with another stroke...The results was amazing and the hair feels smooth and looks shiny.. The lady repeated that this product will not cause damages to the hair but will actually nourish it like a treatment...

I was quite convinced of the product but as my bff has natural wavy stubborn hair, i wanted her to try out too..

And of course, with one stroke action too, it worked for her as well..
I was very much convinced...

Here comes the pricing part...

This product, she was suppose to sell it at SGD 280..

But since we are students (we might have looked too old for it and she asked us for our student cards), she is selling us at 250 + a smaller version of the product + one yr warranty..

But we are not giving in..

And she finally gave us a price of 180...

????

Does this mean that this product was actually much cheaper than what she was selling since she can reduce so much?

So i researched it online...
http://www.corioliss.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=264

It was selling at GBP70... which was roughly SGD 160...

So if one person bought at 280, (shipping costs in bulk is cheap), she can easily earn 100 dollars..wow.. easy cash...

HAHA!

And there are more products on the website than at the booth...

Other than the main website, i found this webby too which i can buy the same thing at less than 50 on Ebay from its dealers...

http://www.corioliss.blogspot.com/

It is so tempting.... and i've decided to get one next month!!! Maybe one for my BFF too..

WAHAHA!

Time for camwhoring!!!

I love my Pinky Room!~

Haiz...
Everything is so expensive in SG...zzzz...
And i doubt their spokespersons will come here to promote... :(

But, i bought 3 masks for trying...and they gave me a box of cotton pads and a furry pen...
(Oh i love furry pens!)
...In Progress...

Tada!!~

Passed for a mini spokesperson?

LOL!

To be frank, the mask's material is very fine and soft and it fits perfectly on the skin..

After using it, i find my skin much smoother and its easier to apply make up the next day...the skin was well moisturised and glowy...

So YES or NO to ETUDE HOUSE?

Answer is a YES!

XOXO

Try them out too!
